HIGHLIGHT VIDEO: No 1 Salisbury vs. SUNY Geneseo
The top ranked Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team cruised to a convincing 18-3 victory over State University of New York at Geneseo on Saturday, March 23. The Sea Gulls recorded their sixth game of the season scoring 16 or more goals and third straight victory holding their opponent to six goals or less. It is the first time since last season the team accomplished the feat when it held Frostburg State, St. Mary’s, and Christopher Newport to two, four, and three goals respectively from April 21 to May 1, 2018. Josh Melton was exceptional start to finish for the maroon and gold as he posted a new career-high 11 point netting five goals and tying his career-best in assists with six. Melton totaled nine of his 11 points in the opening half including tallying five in the second quarter as he had a hand in all five goals the maroon and gold scored in the second frame, recording two goals and three assists. Tyler Snyder and Corey Gwin each posted their sixth hat trick performances of the season while Snyder added two assist to his stat line to post five points. Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, March 27 when it travels to No. 5 Cabrini University for a prime time showdown with the Cavaliers. Faceoff is set for 7 pm at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
