Salisbury ranked No. 9 in both NSCAA and polls

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's soccer team has moved up to No. 9 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Top 25 poll, and remains No. 9 in the poll, the organizations announced Tuesday.

The Sea Gulls defeated Wesley College, 3-0, in their final regular season match Wednesday at the SU Soccer Complex. The win secured their place as the top in the conference as they continue on an 11 game winning streak.

In the poll, SU (16-2) received 429 total points. The top three rankings remain the same with Messiah College (18-1) ranked No. 1 with 618 points and 20 first-place votes. Ohio Wesleyan University follows at No. 2 with 595 points and three first-place votes. No. 3 Rutgers University Camden (17-0-2) received 572 points and two first-place votes, and was the only other team to receive first-place votes in this week's poll.

Previously ranked No. 2 Ohio Wesleyan University has moved up to No. 1 in the NSCAA poll, moving Amherst College to No. 2, followed by No. 3 Messiah College.

Salisbury will enter the CAC tournament Wednesday, Nov. 6, when they host fifth-seeded Frostburg State University. The game is set to begin at 2 p.m.
