MINNEAPOLIS – The Salisbury University men's soccer team landed No. 19 this week in the new D3soccer.com poll, the organization announced Tuesday.
After going 1-1 this past week, the Sea Gulls (9-1-3) received 170 points in the media poll. With a 2-0 victory over St. Mary's College of Maryland and falling for the first time all season in a 1-0 battle to Penn State University-Harrisburg, SU has managed to put up 20 goals so far this season, while only allowing six for a 0.43 goals-against average.
Joining the Sea Gulls once again as the only other Capital Athletic Conference team in the top 25 is Christopher Newport University, at No. 11, receiving 339 points to go along with its 11-1-3 record.
Still at the top of the rankings for the seventh-consecutive week is the defending national champion, Messiah College, receiving all 25 first-place votes for its unblemished 13-0 record. Coming in at No. 2 again this week is Kenyon College, who remains undefeated with an 11-0 tally.
The men are back in action on Wednesday, October 15, as the Sea Gulls welcome Marymount (Va.) University to the SU Soccer Complex. First touch is set for 4 p.m.
