Salisbury University men's soccer senior Matt Greene has been named the Capital Athletic Conference offensive player of the week after scoring two goals and leading the Sea Gulls to a 2-0 week, the league announced on Monday.
In the first game of the week, Salisbury took on Washington (Md.) College, and Greene got the first Sea Gull tally via a penalty kick that he buried to the top-left, en-route to a 3-2 overtime victory in Chestertown, Md.
In the Sea Gulls' second game of the week, Greene put away the only goal of the game as Salisbury defeated Neumann University 1-0 at the SU Soccer Complex.
Greene's two goals came on just five shots, good for a .400 shooting percentage.
This marks the third time in Greene's career that he has been named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week, as he earned the honor in the first week of the 2014 season and earned the honor in October of 2011 during his freshmen season.
The Sea Gulls next take the field on Wednesday, September 23rd when they play Eastern University at the SU Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
