Men's soccer 2019 season highlighted with matchup against Messiah

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's soccer program released its 2019 schedule on Thursday morning. The campaign is highlighted by nine home matches, including two on the opening weekend in the team's annual Labor Day weekend tournament.

The Sea Gulls will open the season on Friday, August 30 against Carnegie Mellon University at 2 p.m. and will take on Gallaudet University on day two of the tournament.

Salisbury's out of conference play is also highlighted with a match against 11-time national champion Messiah College on Saturday, September 21 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania under the lights at 7 p.m.

In Capital Athletic Conference play the team will open on the road against Southern Virginia University on September 28 before returning home for the CAC home-opener against The University of Mary Washington on October 2.

In this year's CAC play each team will play a home and home series with the Sea Gulls trading homecoming contests with the team that knocked them out of the CAC playoffs last season, St. Mary's College of Maryland. The maroon and gold will travel to St. Mary's on October 5 for Hawktoberfest and will then host the Seahawks on October 12 for homecoming here on the Eastern Shore.

Salisbury will conclude its regular season on October 30 down in Newport News, Virginia against last year's CAC runner-up Christopher Newport University.
