SOMERS, Wis. – Salisbury University swim team members Okan Eyigor and Victoria Radcliffe were recognized by CollegeSwimming.com as the Capital Athletic Conference swimmers of the week for their performances against Catholic University of America in the season opener.
Eyigor won the 100-meter backstroke (1:04.31), 200-meter backstroke (2:15.58), and the 100-meter butterfly (1:00.21) to lead the men's team to its first victory of the season. In all three events, Eyigor got out to an early lead and never looked back to capture his first three wins of the season.
In the Catholic meet, Radcliffe won in the 200-meter freestyle (2:13.79), 200-meter breaststroke (2:52.59), and the 200-meter individual medley (2:33.09). Much like Eyigor, Radcliffe won all of the races in convincing fashion as she led the women's team to victory.
Both Eyigor and Radcliffe will return to the pool on Friday, November 6 when the Gulls travel to Penn State University-Altoona for a 5 p.m., meet.
