Russell earns CAC Swimmer of the Week honors

FREDERICKSBURG, Va.- Salisbury University men's swimmer Kyle Russell collected the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week award on Monday.

Russell had a record day in the pool on Saturday against York in a conference dual meet. Russell earned three individual medals and one relay medal. Russell won the 50-meter breaststroke in 31.41 seconds, a 100-meter breaststroke in 1:08.38, and the 200-meter individual medley in 2:20.90. Russell notched a victory in the 200-meter freestyle medley relay with teammates Richard Baker, Josh Brown, and Brandon Hoagland with a time of 1:50.30.

Russell's time in the 50-meter breaststroke broke the Maggs poll record set by Connor Johnston during the 2016 season.

This is Salisbury's first CAC Swimmer of the Week honor of the season.
