Men's tennis suffers 9-0 setback against Sewanee

MALIBU, Calif. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Sewanee: The University of the South on Monday afternoon.

The Sea Gulls (8-3) were unable to get anything going in the doubles matches but Colt Williamson and Patrick MacLean turned in a hard fought match in the No. 1 doubles spot but eventually fell 8-6.

The Tigers (11-4) went on to sweep the singles matches but that wasn't without any resistance. Ian Siew, playing in the No. 2 singles spot, fought hard but was unable to secure the Gulls first win of the day falling 7-5, 6-4. Stefan Hein suffered a 6-3, 6-3 setback in the No. 3 singles match while Matthew Ryan dropped a tough 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) decision in the No. 6 singles match.

Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, March 24 when it takes on California Lutheran University. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
