STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Salisbury University softball team moved up the rankings to No. 18 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III top 25 poll on Wednesday.
The Sea Gulls climbed to No. 18 with 64 points after sitting at the No. 20 spot for two weeks. Salisbury (27-5) has won its last 17 games and remains undefeated in the Capital Athletic Conference.
Linfield College (200 points) continues its reign as the No. 1 team in the nation followed by Emory College, which collected 190 points. Eastern Connecticut State University (181) is no longer tied with Coe College in the third slot after Coe dropped to seventh, allowing Luther College to claim to No. 4 in the nation with 172 points. Entering the top five for the first time this season is Pacific Lutheran University with 162 points.
Salisbury hits the road for a doubleheader against the Shorewomen of Washington College on Wednesday, April 11. Game one is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
The Sea Gulls will host York (Pa.) College on Saturday, April 14, in their final CAC doubleheader of the 2012 regular season. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
