STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Salisbury University softball team slid down one spot to No. 18 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III top 25 poll.
The Sea Gulls (71 points) were not the only team to see a change in the poll as Emory College is now atop the poll with six first-place votes and 195 points while previous-No. 1 Linfield College moved down to third with 181 points. Eastern Connecticut State University moved into the second slot with one first-place vote and 189 points. Luther College (178 points) and Pacific Lutheran University (177 points) remain No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. Pacific Lutheran also picked up the final first-place vote.
Salisbury (34-5) will return to play on Saturday, April 28, as it wraps up play in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament. The Sea Gulls will host Frostburg State University at the SU Softball Field and will be battling the Bobcats to claim their 17th CAC title.
Salisbury remains the only undefeated team in the double-elimination tournament. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.; if necessary, a second game would follow to determine the CAC champion.
