LOUISVILLE – The Salisbury University softball team remains the No. 2 team in the country, now tied for the spot, as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its latest Division III Top 25 Coaches' Poll on Wednesday.
The Sea Gulls (8-1) hold 184 points in the latest poll, coming off a week that saw Salisbury go 6-1. The 184 points match the total of East Texas Baptist University, for second place.
Tufts University remains the top team in the poll, receiving 200 points and all eight first-place votes available, while the University of Texas-Tyler (176 points) and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (174) round out the top five.
Salisbury will be in action next on Saturday, March 21, traveling to the University of Mary Washington for a Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader, which will begin at noon. The Sea Gulls will be at the SU Softball Field on Sunday, hosting DePauw University for a doubleheader. The Tigers are receiving votes in this week's poll.
