DANBURY, Conn. – The awards continue to roll in for Salisbury University softball juniors LeAnne Collins and Annie Pietanza as the Eastern College Athletic Conference announced its softball All-Stars with Collins and Pietanza part of the south first team.
Collins led the Sea Gull offense in 2017 from the top of the batting order, hitting a team-best .537 batting average and the best slugging percentage on the team at a .787 clip. Collins hit just three home runs, but also had seven triples and 11 doubles while scoring a team-high 48 runs.
Pietanza brought the most runs around to score for the Salisbury offense, driving in 50 runs on the year, while hitting a team-high-tying seven home runs. She also added a pair of triples and 14 doubles for a .719 slugging percentage, which was second on the team to Collins.
The two Sea Gulls were recently named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association all-region team and each earned All-Capital Athletic Conference honors.
