Softball picked to finish second in CAC preseason poll

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University softball team has been picked by the Capital Athletic Conference coaches to place second in the league in 2019 as the league office release the preseason coaches' poll on Wednesday.

Salisbury earned 32 points and two first-place votes for the second spot, just behind Christopher Newport University, which picked up the other five first-place votes and 35 points.

York College of Pennsylvania was tabbed to finish in third, picking up 25 points in the poll, followed by the University of Mary Washington (19 points), Frostburg State University (18), Penn State University-Harrisburg (11), and Southern Virginia University (seven).

Salisbury will begin the season on Saturday, February 16 hosting The College of New Jersey and the University of Rochester (N.Y.) at Sea Gull Softball Stadium.
