Softball collects academic accolades from Easton/NFCA

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2019 Easton/NFCA Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes and the Salisbury University softball team was well represented.

Salisbury was named one of 117 Division III programs to be named an NFCA Academic Team for the 2019 season. The Sea Gulls finished the 2018-19 academic year with a team grade-point average of 3.300, with 10 Sea Gulls named Scholar-Athletes leading the way.

Seniors Cat Ramagnano, Shannon Powell and Amelia Trotter, junior Emily Allen, sophomores Madeira Alexander and Lilly Wingo and freshmen Francesca Cuttitta, Sydney Duplissey, Hope Eckhart and B.K. Hewitt all earned Scholar-Athlete honors with grade-point averages of at least 3.50.

Salisbury finished the 2019 season with a 24-13 overall record and an 8-4 record in the Capital Athletic Conference.
