Emily Challender joins the Sea Gull Softball staff in 2026 after graduating from Salisbury as a Biomedical Major that is currently in nursing school. Challender, the Lumberton, N.J. native, contributed to 166 wins since the start of the 2022 season, one Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference championship, three NCAA Tournament appearances, two College World Series berths, and a national runner-up finish in 2023.
Challender played in 129 games since 2022, amassing a .369 batting average with 100 hits, 92 runs, 17 doubles, four home runs, and 39 RBIs. Emily earned All-C2C first team, and earned NFCA First-Team All-Region laurels in 2024 and 2025. Off the diamond she served as a Biology Student Mentor, been involved with the Fetal Bone Development Research in the Department of Biological Sciences, and a Supplemental Instructor for Microbiology. She earned Dean’s List every semester amd is a member of the Psi Chi Chapter at Salisbury. She currently still resides in Salisbury while powering through her accelerated nursing program.Â
