BYDGOSZCZ, Poland – Former Salisbury University track & field athlete Luke Campbell advanced to the World Track & Field Championships as a representative of Germany at the European Cup Team Championships over the past weekend.
Campbell, who was a national champion and All-American during his time in the maroon and gold, earned a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles after he posted a time of 49.24 seconds in the event. The time and place were good enough to qualify the former Sea Gull for the World Track & Field Championships this upcoming fall.
He will represent Germany at the championships, which will be held from Saturday, September 28 until Sunday, October 6 in Doha, Qatar.
