MINNEAPOLIS - Sophomore point guard Anna Hackett has been named to the D3hoops.com 2013 Women's All Atlantic Region Team, the organization announced on Wednesday. Hackett is the first Sea Gull under the tutelage of Head Coach Kelly Lewandowski to garner such an accomplishment.
Hackett was named to the second team after a stellar sophomore campaign. The sophomore scored a team-high 444 points on the year as Salisbury advanced to the Capital Athletic Conference semifinal for the second-consecutive season. Hackett led the team in scoring average, field goal attempts, field goals made, free throw attempts, free throws made, assists, steals and minutes.
The Germantown, Md., native was also a threat in the conference and is one of only three CAC members represented on the All-Region team. Hackett's sharp shooting placed her among the top performers in the CAC as she was tied for first with 16.4 points per game, fourth in field goal percentage (45.8), third in assists per game (4.3) and led the conference in free throw percentage (86.2).
For the season, Hackett recorded five new career-highs including a 32-point performance at Randolph College on December 16. She then went on to set single-game highs in steals (seven), field goals made (13), field goal attempts (23) and free throws made (10) while matching her career-best in three-pointers made (two) and free throw attempts (10).
