YORK, Pa. - Junior guard Sarah Seipp of the Salisbury University women's basketball team was named the Capital Athletic Conference player of the week for her play in wins over Wesley College and No. 10 York College of Pennsylvania, the league announced on Monday.
Seipp began the week on Wednesday, leading the Sea Gulls with 16 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and four steals in a 64-58 victory over Wesley. In the near triple-double, she set career highs in rebounds and assists.
In a 79-69 win over the Spartans on Saturday, she again led the team in scoring, with 24 points; Seipp caught fire with 21 of her points coming in the second half, as she led the team in the closing minutes by hitting seven-of-eight free throws to cap the win. She added six rebounds and a team-high six steals, as well.
For the week, she averaged 20 points, 8.5 rebounds, five steals and 4.5 assists per game.
Seipp and the Sea Gulls will be back in action on Wednesday, as they will host Marymount (Va.) University aet Maggs Physical Activitis Center at 5:30 p.m.
