YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its first weekly women's basketball Player of the Week on Monday, and Salisbury University senior guard Sarah Seipp earned this week's honor.
The Gaithersburg, Maryland native helped lead the Sea Gulls (2-0) to the Morgan Stanley Tip-Off Tournament title at DeSales University Sunday afternoon, defeating the Bulldogs, 72-61, to win the championship. The Gulls defeated Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday, 62-57, to advance to the championship game.
Seipp recorded a game-high 21 points and a team-high 11 rebounds through 36 minutes of play in the championship, while also adding a game-high six steals.
Posting a pair of double-doubles, averaging 17.5 points and 11.5 boards per game to go along with 3.5 steals per contest, she was recognized as the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
Seipp and the Sea Gulls are back in action on Wednesday, November 19, as they travel to Catholic University of America for a 6 p.m., tip off against the Cardinals.
