Gulls move up rankings to No. 21/23 in latest polls

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team keeps rolling to open its 2014-15 campaign, starting the season 7-0 and moving up the national rankings.

Now ranked in both the and USA Today polls, Salisbury remains the only team from the Capital Athletic Conference to represent the league in the rankings.

Placed at No. 24 last week in the USA Today coaches' poll, the Sea Gulls made a three-spot jump to No. 21 this week, receiving 35 points. Salisbury is making its first appearance on the media poll, at No. 23 with 63 points.

Maintaining the top spot in both polls again this week is Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham, recording seven first-place votes and 199 points in the USA Today poll and all 20 first-place votes and 618 points in the ranking for its unblemished 7-0 tally.

The Sea Gulls are back in action on Wednesday, December 17, as Salisbury welcomes CAC-foe Christopher Newport University to Maggs Physical Activities Center. The Gulls will look to avenge their one-point conference semifinal loss to the Captains last season. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
