Women's basketball continues to climb national rankings

SALISBURY, Md. – The new rankings for USA Today and D3hoops.com were released Tuesday, and the Salisbury University women's basketball team continues to make its way up both polls this week.

Having the past week and a half off from games, the Sea Gulls are still climbing up the rankings with their perfect 7-0 record. Placed at No. 23 last week in D3hoops.com, SU moved up two spots to No. 21, receiving 121 points. In the USA Today ranking, the Gulls moved up to No. 20 this week with 44 points.

Salisbury continues to be the only team in the Capital Athletic Conference to maintain a spot in the top 25 in either poll, as the Gulls remain the lone team in the league with an undefeated overall record.

Still holding down the top spot in both polls is Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham, receiving 21 of the 25 first-place votes in the D3hoops.com poll and 619 points. In the USA Today ranking, the Devils recorded seven first-place points to go along with their unblemished 8-0 record.

The Gulls take the court again on Wednesday, December 17, as Salisbury welcomes CAC-foe Christopher Newport University to Maggs Physical Activities Center. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
