SALISBURY, Md. – After putting together another 2-0 week on the court, the Salisbury University women's basketball team moved up in the latest rankings released by D3hoops.com and USA Today, the organizations announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Sea Gulls (12-1, 6-0 CAC) defeated two Capital Athletic Conference opponents last week, downing the University of Mary Washington, 69-63, before toppling York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday, 91-81.
With the 2-0 week, the D3hoops.com poll moved Salisbury from No. 21 last week to No. 20 this week, receiving 157 points. In the USA Today coaches' poll, the Gulls made a one-spot jump to No. 18, earning 51 points.
Still holding down the top spot in both polls is Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham with its perfect 13-0 record. Within the top 25, there remain 10 squads with unblemished records.
The women take the court on Wednesday, January 14 for their next game, as Marymount (Va.) University comes to Maggs Physical Activities Center for a CAC clash. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
