DANBURY, Conn. – The accolades continue to roll in for senior guard Anna Hackett of the No. 18 Salisbury University women's basketball team, as the Eastern College Athletic Conference named her Division III South Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Hackett put together a 55-point week through two games last week, as she made a four-spot jump in the program's all-time scoring list to No. 3 with 1,507 career points. Hackett needs 33 points to catch alumna Lisa Neylan (1997-'01) at the No. 2 spot, who finished her career with 1,540 points.
For the season, the Germantown, Maryland native is shooting 48 percent from the field, 46.7 percent from behind the arc, and 88 percent from the free-throw line. Averaging 20.5 points per game, Hackett has helped lead the Gulls to a 12-1 overall record and a 6-0 tally in the Capital Athletic Conference, the only unblemished record in the league.
Hackett and the Gulls look to remain undefeated in the conference on Wednesday, January 14, as Marymount (Va.) University travels to Salisbury for a CAC tilt. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m., in Maggs Physical Activities Center.
