Sea Gulls keep climbing national rankings

SALISBURY, Md. – Still maintaining just one loss for the season, the Salisbury University women's basketball team continues to climb the national rankings, according to USA Today and Tuesday afternoon.

The Sea Gulls (14-1, 8-0 CAC) went 2-0 this past week in Capital Athletic Conference play, downing Marymount (Va.) University, 70-57, before traveling to Frostburg State University for a 63-55 victory to remain atop the league standings.

On a current five-game winning streak, Salisbury moved from No. 20 last week in the poll to No. 17, receiving 216 points. In USA Today coaches' poll, the Gulls moved to No. 17 as well, earning 65 points.

Still maintaining the top three spots again this week are Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham, Thomas More College, and Washington University, in that order, all with unblemished records.

The women are back in action on Wednesday, January 21, as Salisbury welcomes Wesley College to Maggs Physical Activities Center. This is the final game of the first half of conference play. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
