SALISBURY, Md. – The latest rankings were released Tuesday afternoon by D3hoops.com and USA Today, and the Salisbury University women's basketball team landed at No. 18 and 20, respectively.
The Sea Gulls (16-1, 10-0 CAC) extended their winning streak to seven this past week, downing two Capital Athletic Conference opponents in Wesley College and Penn State University-Harrisburg.
In the D3hoops.com poll, SU earned 220 points to sit at No. 18 this week, while receiving 54 points in the USA Today ranking to come in at No. 20. The Gulls remain the only team out of the conference for both men's and women's basketball to earn a spot in the top 25.
The top three teams remain the same this week, as Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham, Thomas More College and the University of St. Thomas (Minn.), in that order, maintain their unblemished records of 17-0.
The women take the court Wednesday, January 28 for their next action, as Salisbury gets set to take on St. Mary's College of Maryland for the second time this season in CAC play. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m., in Maggs Physical Activities Center.
