Gulls continue climbing national rankings with 22-1 record

SALISBURY, Md. – Heading into the final week of the regular season, the Salisbury University women's basketball team continues to climb the national rankings, and USA Today announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Sea Gulls (22-1, 16-0 CAC) went 2-0 this past week in the Capital Athletic Conference, defeating Wesley College, 61-43, before downing Frostburg State University on Senior Day, 68-42. SU made a jump in both polls this week, still maintaining just one loss all season. In the poll, the Gulls went from No. 17 last week to No. 16, receiving 263 points. Placed at No. 17 in USA Today's coaches ranking last week, Salisbury made a two-spot jump to No. 15, earning 78 points.

The Sea Gulls remain the only team in the top 25 to represent both men's and women's basketball in the CAC, as they have yet to drop a game in league play this season.

The women are back in action on Wednesday, February 18, traveling to Marymount (Va.) University for a matchup against the Saints. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
