FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners for women's basketball on Monday and Salisbury University senior point guard Mary McDonagh was named the league's co-Player of the Week.
McDonagh averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Sea Gulls. She shot 54.2 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from three while going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the two games.
In a 62-50 win at Wesley College, McDonagh scored 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field to go along with five assists and three rebounds.
McDonagh tallied a career-high 24 points in an 86-69 win against Southern Virginia University in the regular season finale. She shot 6-for-10 from three-point range while adding six assists and five rebounds.
Salisbury opens the CAC tournament on the road against the University of Mary Washington on Tuesday, February 20 at 6 p.m.
