VIDEO: Women's basketball comes up short against No. 10 Christopher Newport

The Salisbury University women’s basketball team hosted No. 10 Christopher Newport University on Wednesday night, taking a two-point lead into the fourth quarter before the Captains offense came alive to score 30 points in the final frame and hand the Sea Gulls a 68-52 loss. Junior Kaylyn French was the only Sea Gull to score in double figures, notching 12 points on 4-for-9 shooting. French added eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals in the game. Senior Mary McDonagh dished out seven assists, which tied her for seventh place in program history. McDonagh finished with eight points, including two three-pointers, as well as two rebounds and a steal. Junior Megan Konig came off the bench and chipped in nine points on 44.4 percent shooting, including this three-pointer, which was one of Salisbury’s four from beyond the arc on the night. Morgan Grubb was an efficient 4-for-6 on the night for nine points, knocking down her only three-point attempt. Grubb added four assists, three rebounds, and two steals. Salisbury concludes its three-game homestand on Saturday, February 3 against Frostburg State University at 1 p.m.
