Women’s Basketball runs past Mt. Aloysius, 80-34

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's basketball team returned for day two of the Rinso Marquette Tournament at Lebanon Valley College, defeating the Mt. Aloysius Mounties in the consolation game, 80-34.

  • The contest opened with a Lauren Fortescue three-pointer just 12 seconds after tip-off. The Mounties took a brief lead just over four minutes in on a Hannah Kitko three to make it 7-4, but it would mark their only lead of the game. The Sea Gulls closed the first quarter with a 13-3 run to take a 17-10 lead.
  • Salisbury held Mount Aloysius to only four points in the second quarter to bust the game open.
  • After Mount Aloysius scored the opening basket of the second on an Emma Kitko three-pointer, Salisbury went on a 17-1 run through rest of the period. The Sea Gulls held the Mounties to 16.7 percent shooting in the quarter and forced 10 turnovers.
  • Kaylee Otlowski collected eight rebounds in the second quarter alone while she and teammate Courtney Brigham led with six points.
  • The maroon and gold continued to hold the upper hand in the third quarter as Catherine Gibson led the charge with seven points off the bench to help put her team ahead 52-26.
  • Despite its dominating play through the first three quarters, Salisbury saved its best performance for the final ten minutes, outscoring its opponent 28-8 to lock down the 80-34 victory.


  • Kaylee Otlowski recorded her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 16 rebounds in 29 minutes. The forward also added six assists and a steal on her way to being named to the All-Tournament Team.
  • Freshman Emily Dilger was just a point shy of her own double-double in 17 minutes off the bench with 12 rebounds and nine points. Dilger also added two assists and a steal.
  • Lauren Fortescue was the team leader in points with 18 to go along with five rebounds, three assists and a steal.
  • Salisbury shot 41.9 percent from the field while holding its opponent to only 23.8 percent.


  • The team returns home on Wednesday, November 20 when it hosts Marymount (Va.) in its annual Teddy Bear Toss game set to tip-off at 6 p.m.
