GRAND LAKE, Colo. – After completing an undefeated regular season, the Salisbury University women's lacrosse team heads into postseason play sitting at No. 2 in this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Top 20 poll, the organization announced Tuesday.
Following three wins last week, including two over top-15 teams York (Pa.) College and Christopher Newport University, the Sea Gulls picked up an additional two first-place votes, totaling four votes for the top spot and 384 points overall.
The top five remains unchanged from last week, with Trinity (Conn.) College remaining atop the poll, with 16 first-place votes and 396 points.
Sitting behind Salisbury is Middlebury College, with 355 points. At No. 4 is the State University of New York at Cortland, which was awarded 343 points. Rounding out the top five again this week is Gettysburg College, garnering 322 points.
Heading into the Capital Athletic Conference tournament, the CAC is represented by two member institutions, as York (Pa.) College sits at No. 10.
As result of its undefeated regular season, Salisbury has earned a bye in the first round of the CAC tournament.
