INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 2 Salisbury University women's lacrosse team has now seen the path it will need to travel if it is going to claim the program's second national championship as the NCAA released the 2013 tournament bracket on Sunday night.
The Sea Gulls (17-0), who on Saturday earned an automatic bid in the field after claiming the program's 13th Capital Athletic Conference championship, will take on Cabrini College (11-7) in the first round of the tournament on Wednesday, May 8, at Sea Gull Stadium.
This will be just the second all-time meeting between the programs, with the only other game falling on the same date, May 8, in 2004. The Sea Gulls earned an 18-7 win in that contest, in Salisbury, in another NCAA tournament first round game.
Cabrini earned an automatic bid into the 2013 tournament field by winning the Colonial States Athletic Conference tournament.
Wednesday's winner will take on the winner of another first-round game between Christopher Newport University and Sewanee.
The start time for Wednesday's game will be determined on Monday, check www.suseagulls.com for more information about the game as it becomes available.
