FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its first women's lacrosse awards for the 2018 season on Monday afternoon and Salisbury University senior Allie Hynson was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week.
Hynson recorded five caused turnovers, five groundballs, and 10 draw controls in a 2-0 start for the Sea Gulls. In an 11-10 overtime victory against Stevenson University in the season opener, Hynson collected three groundballs, caused three turnovers, and came up with seven draw controls.
The midfielder scooped up two groundballs, caused two turnovers, and secured three draw controls in a 13-9 comeback win over No. 14 The Catholic University of America.
Hynson and the Sea Gulls are back in action this Saturday, March 3 when they host No. 8 Washington and Lee University at 1 p.m.
