GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released the Division III Coaches Poll on Monday afternoon and Salisbury University took over the top spot in the national rankings.
The Sea Gulls garnered 22 of a possible 25 first-place votes and a total of 622 points to move up one spot and become the top-ranked team in Division III. Salisbury defeated Christopher Newport University 18-6 in its only game of the week.
Gettysburg College dropped one spot to No. 2 after falling to Franklin & Marshall College last week. Gettysburg received two first-place votes and 584 points, while Franklin & Marshall got the final first-place vote and 491 points to come in at No. 5.
The College of New Jersey remained at No. 3, gathering 576 points, while Amherst College jumped two spots to No. 4 with 529 points.
Two other Capital Athletic Conference teams remain ranked, with York College of Pennsylvania moving up two spots to No. 7 with 462 points and the University of Mary Washington falling five spots to No. 10 with 422 points.
Salisbury welcomes Mary Washington to Sea Gull Stadium for its Senior Day on Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m.
