Women’s lacrosse lands at No. 4 in final IWLCA poll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released the final Division III Coaches Poll on Tuesday and Salisbury University finished the 2018 campaign at the No. 4 spot.  

The Sea Gulls received 555 points to check in at No. 4 after falling to eventual national champion Gettysburg College in the semifinals of the NCAA tournament. Salisbury finished the year with a 21-2 record, with the two losses coming against teams in the top three of the final poll.

The Bullets claimed the top spot with all 25 first-place votes and 625 points after winning their second straight title. Runner-up Middlebury College checked in at No. 2 with 600 points, while The College of New Jersey was third with 570 points. Amherst College rounded out the top five with 493 points.

Two other Capital Athletic Conference opponents finished the season in the top 10, as York College of Pennsylvania tied Franklin & Marshall College for the sixth spot with 487 points, and the University of Mary Washington ended the campaign at No. 10 with 411 points.
