The third ranked Salisbury University women’s lacrosse team defeated No. 5 York College of Pennsylvania 8-5 in the Capital Athletic Conference opener on Saturday afternoon, with Jim Nestor earning his 300th win as Salisbury head coach. Allie Hynson scored three goals to lead the Sea Gulls on the offensive end. Hynson recorded goals off assists from Krissy Murphy and Lindsey Wagner while scoring one off a free position shot. Hynson also came up with three draw controls, one groundball, and caused one turnover. Gianna Falcone came up big in net for Salisbury, making a season-high 13 saves while allowing just five goals. Falcone also recorded a team-high six groundballs, with Salisbury coming up with 13 as a team. Krissy Murphy tallied two goals and two assists to help keep Salisbury undefeated on the season, moving to 8-0 with four wins against ranked opponents. Salisbury will travel to Wesley College on Tuesday, March 27 to take on the Wolverines at 4 p.m.
