Women's lacrosse holds No. 4 spot in IWLCA poll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released the first regular season poll of 2019 on Monday afternoon and Salisbury University remained at the No. 4 spot.

The Sea Gulls received 547 points after starting the season 2-0. Salisbury began the season with a 14-6 win against Stevenson University and earned a 13-12 overtime victory against No. 15 Catholic University of America on Sunday, February 24.

Gettysburg College held the top spot, receiving 623 points and 24 of a possible 25 first-place votes. Middlebury College remained at No. 2, receiving 590 points, while The College of New Jersey was just behind at No. 3 with 580 points and the final first-place vote.

Fellow Capital Athletic Conference member York College of Pennsylvania moved up one spot to No. 5 with 509 points. The University of Mary Washington also moved up one spot to No. 7 with 481 points.

Salisbury is back in action with a top-10 showdown against No. 8 Washington and Lee University on Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m.
