SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 4 Salisbury University women's lacrosse team cruised to a 22-3 victory over Frostburg State University in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
The Sea Gulls (10-2, 2-0 CAC) jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first 14 minutes of action and never looked back. Courtney Fegan scored the first two goals off feeds from Alexis Strobel, who tied a career high with six assists in the game. Strobel added a goal to give her a team-high seven points on the day.
Gianna Demato, who notched a hat trick to go along with two assists, added two goals during the opening run. Demato's first goal came on an assist from Lindsey Wagner, who made it 9-0 after recording two assists in the early going.
After the Bobcats (3-9, 0-1) put an end to the run with two goals, Bri Held tallied her first goal of the season to make it 10-2. Lydia McNulty added two goals before halftime as the Sea Gulls took a 14-3 lead into the break.
Salisbury shut out Frostburg State while recording eight more goals in the second half to score a season-high 22 goals. Angelica Jensen tallied two goals while Lily Cavallaro recorded the first goal of her career on Delaney Hill's first career assist.
Salisbury hits the road to take on Christopher Newport University on Wednesday, April 10 at 4 p.m.
