Women’s lacrosse checks in at No. 6 in IWLCA poll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released its latest Division III coaches' poll on Monday and Salisbury University came in at No. 6 in this week's rankings.

The Sea Gulls fell one spot to No. 6, receiving 527 points, despite going 2-0 last week. Salisbury opened the week with an 18-8 victory at Christopher Newport University before earning an 8-7 win over No. 16 The College of New Jersey.

The top four spots in the rankings remained the same, with Washington and Lee University at No. 1 with 602 points and 13 first-place votes. Gettysburg College came in just behind the Generals with 599 points and four first-place votes, while Middlebury College received three first-place votes and 578 points to land at No. 3. Franklin & Marshall College earned one first-place vote and 533 points, narrowly edging out Tufts University, which rounded out the top five with 531 points and four first-place votes.

Two other Capital Athletic Conference teams remained in the top-25, with the University of Mary Washington remaining at No. 7 with 471 points and York College of Pennsylvania dropping one spot to No. 9 with 441 points.

Salisbury takes on York on Wednesday, April 17 for its final regular season road game, which is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
