FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly women's lacrosse awards on Monday and Salisbury University junior goalkeeper Skye Graham was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Graham posted a 6.67 goals-against average and 59.1 save percentage in a 2-0 week for No. 6 Salisbury.
In a 10-9 double overtime victory against No. 8 York College of Pennsylvania, Graham made a season-high 13 saves in just under 72 minutes of action. She added one caused turnover and two ground balls to aid in the Sea Gulls' seventh victory over a ranked opponent this season. The junior then didn't allow a goal in a little over nine minutes of action as Salisbury defeated Southern Virginia University 18-1 to secure the top seed in the CAC tournament.
Graham and the Sea Gulls have now held their last seven opponents, and 11 of their last 12, to single digit goals. She ranks second in the CAC in save percentage at 50.2 and second with a 7.94 goals-against average.
The Sea Gulls conclude the regular season on Wednesday, April 24 when they host St. Mary's College of Maryland at 4 p.m.
