The fourth ranked Salisbury University women’s lacrosse team opened the 2019 season with a 14-6 win over Stevenson University on Saturday afternoon at Sea Gull Stadium. The Sea Gulls jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first 15 minutes of action, including two goals from Courtney Fegan. Sophomore Emma Skoglund ended the first half with three straight goals for Salisbury, giving the Sea Gulls a 9-2 lead heading into halftime. Gabby Mongno, one of four players with two goals in the game, tallied her second goal of the afternoon in the second half to stretch the lead to 12-3. Skye Graham made seven saves in just under 44 minutes of action while also causing one turnover and scooping up two groundballs. Salisbury returns to action on Sunday, February 24 with a 1 p.m. match-up at the Catholic University of America.
