The Salisbury University women’s lacrosse team won its fifth straight game on Saturday afternoon, defeating No. 16 The College of New Jersey, 8-7, in nonconference action. Gianna Demato led the offense with four goals, including the first two of the game. Demato also caused one turnover and came up with one groundball in the victory. Emma Skoglund tallied two goals, both of which came in the second half. Lydia McNulty added a free position goal on her only shot of the day, while Taylor Poore recorded one goal to go along with three caused turnovers and two groundballs. Skye Graham made eight saves on 15 shots to earn the win in net. The junior added three caused turnovers and four groundballs to help lead a strong defensive effort, limiting the opponent to eight goals or fewer for the fifth straight game. Salisbury travels to take on No. 9 York College of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, April 17 for its final regular season road game at 5 p.m.
