SALEM, Va. – Brittany Klippstein scored with 71:26 gone in the match to lift Lynchburg College to a 2-1 win over the Salisbury University women's soccer team in the Roanoke College Kickoff Classic at Kerr Stadium Saturday.
Klippstein's second goal of the second half propelled the Hornets past SU (2-1-2) despite freshman Morgan Brasch scoring her first collegiate goal.
Brasch took a lob pass from classmate Kristin Butzke that bounced once in the box before putting it past Lynchburg (2-1-0) goalkeeper Jackie Bader low on the left for the 31st-minute tally.
Klippstein tied the game in the 46th minute on a pass from Joanie Snyder.
Lynchburg led, 14-3, in shots and, 4-3, in corner kicks.
Freshman goalie Michelle Conrad made seven saves for the Sea Gulls while Bader earned the win without making a save.
Salisbury plays tournament-host Roanoke Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
