KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Salisbury University seniors Kira Mangone and Amanda Miele have been named to the 2011 NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Division III Women's All-South Atlantic Region Third Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Mangone, a back from West Winsor, N.J., and Miele, a forward from Green Village, N.J., become the 10th and 11th all-region selections – and first since 2007 – in Salisbury women's soccer history.
Mangone started all 21 matches in the back while picking up two assists.
Miele was tied for fourth in the Capital Athletic Conference in goals (10) and fourth in points (22) in 19 matches. She was also tied for third in the league with four game-winning goals.
Both were named to the All-CAC first team this season.
SU (13-6-2) won the CAC title and advanced to its fourth NCAA tournament this season. The Sea Gulls fell to Wheaton (Mass.) College, 1-0, in the first round.
