CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Salisbury University women's soccer players Amanda Zyzak and Michelle Conrad each added another honor to their bio on Thursday as the pair was named Eastern College Athletic Conference South All-Stars.
Zyzak, a senior defender, and Conrad, a freshman goalkeeper, were each named to the second team.
Zyzak, who played in 17 of Salisbury's 21 games this season, starting five, was a versatile player for the Gulls, spending time both in a forward position and on defense as Salisbury dealt with a number of injuries throughout the year. The Damascus, Md., native scored four goals for Salisbury, including a career-high two in the Sea Gulls' 3-0 win against Marymount (Va.) University on Sept. 28.
Conrad made an immediate impact, starting all 21 games while posting a 0.93 goals against average and registering five shutouts. Her more than 1,830 minutes spent in goal this season ranked 27th in the nation.
Salisbury won 13 matches, and claimed the program's fourth Capital Athletic Conference championship to qualify for the NCAA tournament for the fourth time since 2000.
