CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2013 Division III South Women's Soccer All-Star teams and Salisbury University defender Tabitha Brown was named a second team all-star, the conference announced Friday.
The Bethany, Conn., native patrolled the middle of the defense for Head Coach Kwame Lloyd, which ranked as one of the better defenses in the nation while playing the top teams in the region. The Sea Gulls finished the season with 0.71 goals-against average, good for 44th in Division III, out of 427 teams, and second in the Capital Athletic Conference. Salisbury's defense allowed only 15 goals in 20 games, the second fewest in the CAC. The Sea Gulls kept their opponents off the board 11 times, or 55 percent of their games, which was the best shutout percentage in the conference and 38th in the country.
Brown was a force for the Sea Gulls on the offensive end of the field as well, scoring two goals and handing out an assist. The sophomore was the only player to start in each of the 20 Sea Gull contests this season.
