FREDERICKSBURG, Va.– The Salisbury University women's soccer team swept the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) weekly awards as senior defender Jenna Beck and senior midfielder/forward Lydia Narum were named the CAC Players of the Week on Monday.
Beck earned the CAC Defensive Player of the Week award after collecting her first assist of the season in Salisbury's 4-0 shutout over York on Wednesday. Beck and the rest of the Salisbury backline made things easier for goalkeeper Emma Hill as she only faced nine shots on goal in two games on the week.
Narum received the CAC Offensive Player of the Week award after tallying three goals on the week Narum tallied two goals in Salisbury's 4-0 win on Wednesday over York, including a long-range shot from 40-yards out that sailed over the keeper's head and into the back of the net.
Narum sits in a tie for second in the CAC in goals (7) and fifth in points (14).
Beck and Narum helped the Sea Gulls remain unbeaten in CAC play with a 5-0 record and push their unbeaten streak to nine games, which is the program's longest since the 2007 season.
