COLORADO SPRINGS, Col. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association released its list of the 2019 Scholar All-America teams on Tuesday morning and the Salisbury University women's swimming program was among the list of institutions that were recognized for their outstanding performance in the classroom.
The Sea Gulls posted a team grade point average of 3.34 during the 2018-19 academic year to earn a spot on the list. The maroon and gold were one of a record 777 teams, representing 480 institutions, named to the list for Scholar All-America which achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
In Division III the women were led by Macalester College, which posted a team GPA of 3.79, edging out their Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival Saint Catherine's University, which attained a GPA of 3.76. The women's median GPA of 3.45 during the 2018-19 academic year is the highest on record for the CSCAA.
This is Salisbury's second time in the last three years being named to the CSCAA list of Scholar All-America teams, with the last time coming in 2017.
