YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its yearly women's tennis awards and all six of Salisbury's starters earned two conference honors.
The trio combined for a 16-3 mark in singles play in CAC matches as Iosue posted a 10-9 record at No. 2 singles this season and was 11-9 overall. Alban was 9-11 overall while Handlin posted an 11-10 mark in singles play in 2012.
Junior Jillian Poppe, and freshmen Katie Youlios and Allison Lutz were all named to the All-CAC Second Team. Poppe earned the nod thanks to a 10-10 mark at the No. 1 singles spot while Youlios was 10-9 overall and 4-4 at the No. 4 spot. Lutz was 7-7 at No. 6 singles this season.
All six players earned second-team doubles honors, led by Alban and Iosue, who went 14-6 at No. 1 doubles, including an unblemished 6-0 mark in CAC matches.
Iosue and Youlios combined for an 8-2 mark this season, all at the No. 2 slot and were also unbeaten in CAC matches, with a 5-0 mark in league play. Handlin and Lutz went 7-3 in the No. 3 doubles slot this year.
With 12 honors, Salisbury has now seen 160 players garner All-CAC recognition in program history.
