Women's tennis keeps rolling with 9-0 win at Frostburg

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team picked up a 9-0 win in its final road Capital Athletic Conference match of the season, winning at Frostburg State University on Saturday.

The Sea Gulls made quick work of the three doubles matches, allowing the Bobcats (6-8, 1-3 CAC) to win only three total games. Senior Claudia Lohn and freshman Jordan Schaefer earned an 8-0 win at No. 2, with junior Sage Cole and sophomore Taylor Cooper winning 8-1 at No. 3. Freshmen Julia Kwedi and Annika Kezman closed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win at No. 1.

More of the same dominance continued in the singles competition, with Cole picking up a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 and Kwedi, Cooper, and Schaefer allowing their opponents just one game. Kwedi garnered a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2, while Cooper and Schaefer at the No. 3 and 4 spots, respectively, each won 6-1, 6-0.

Sophomore Shannon Hickman picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 and Kezman was good for a 6-4, 6-1 win at the top singles spot.

The Sea Gulls (9-5, 5-1 CAC) return home on Tuesday, April 11 hosting No. 24 Christopher Newport University in each team's CAC regular season finale. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
