LOS ANGELES – The Salisbury University women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 setback against Sewanee: The University of the South on Monday afternoon.
The Tigers (11-4) swept the doubles matches and went on to claim five of the six singles matches to earn the victory.
Annika Kezman picked up the only Sea Gulls (7-3) win of the afternoon. Playing in the No. 1 singles spot Kezman claimed an exciting three set victory 6-3, 6-7, 10-8. Taylor Cooper, who was playing in the No. 3 singles spot, dropped a tough decision in her match 3-6, 2-6. Playing in the No. 5 spot Jordan Schaefer also suffered a setback in her match 2-6, 2-6.
Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, March 21 when it takes on Hope International University. The match is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
